Evolved to withstand sub-zero winters down to -40°C, yak wool is up to 30% warmer than standard wool and 40% warmer than Merino. Ethically hand-combed rather than shorn, the rare yak khullu we use in Nomé pieces features fibers in the range of 17.5–19 microns, offering an unmatched, weightless softness that rivals cashmere and feels incredibly gentle against the skin.

Independent testing proves yak wool is 1.6 times more breathable than cashmere, allowing moisture to escape so you never overheat, while remaining naturally odor-resistant, anti-static, and hypoallergenic. Possessing a natural, invisible coating that repels moisture, it continues to insulate perfectly even in damp conditions. Characterized by strong, resilient fibers that naturally outperform cashmere in durability, it is highly resistant to pilling and easily retains its clean structure and original shape over time.
