Our Story
We create fewer, better pieces — made from natural materials, crafted by hand, and designed to last.
Nomé was founded on a simple belief — that true luxury lies in care, not excess. We create timeless knitwear and home essentials crafted from one of nature’s most remarkable fibers...
Each piece is made from natural yak wool — a rare, resilient fiber sourced from the vast Mongolian steppe. Every garment is knitted by skilled nomadic artisans who have worked with this material for generations. Their knowledge, patience, and care are woven into every thread. In Scandinavia, this heritage meets our design philosophy — calm simplicity, functional beauty, and attention to every detail. The result is clothing that transcends seasons. Refined, honest, and enduring.
We work with nature, not against it. Our materials are ethically sourced, undyed when possible, and produced in small, intentional quantities. We value craftsmanship over speed, longevity over trends, and transparency over noise. Nomé stands for a slower, more thoughtful way of creating and consuming. Each garment carries a story — from the hands that made it to the lives it becomes part of.
This is more than knitwear. It’s a return to what matters.
Mongolia is home to one of the last true nomadic cultures. For generations, herding families have lived in harmony with the land — moving with the seasons and caring for their animals with deep knowledge and respect.
Yak down is an important source of income for these communities. It helps sustain their way of life and protects traditions that are increasingly challenged by climate change and modern pressures.
We work directly with these herders, and the quality of our wool comes from the care they take in tending their yaks. Their craft and culture make our garments possible — and we’re proud to support them through long-term, responsible partnerships.
