Care and Promise

At Nomé, we believe true quality lasts. Our promise is simple: to stand by what we make, and to help you keep each piece in use for as long as possible. Care is part of the design — from the way our yak wool is sourced, to how we guide you in maintaining it.

Less washing, mindful storage, and timeless design mean less waste and longer wear

A fibre as strong as the land it comes from and as soft as the lives it supports

Yak wool carries a quiet strength. Unlike mass-farmed cashmere goats, yaks live freely in the high mountains of Mongolia, where they’re raised not for their fiber but for transport, milk, and companionship. Their naturally shed undercoat is collected gently by hand each spring — a process that’s cruelty-free, traceable, and sustainable. This makes yak wool one of the world’s most responsible and durable natural fibers.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Lifelong Care Promise mean?

It means we stand by every piece we make. If a product shows unexpected wear or faults over time, we’ll help you repair, restore, or replace it — no matter how long it’s been.

How do I contact you about a damaged item?

Email our Care Team at care@nome.studio. Include a short description and a few photos — we’ll review your case and guide you from there.

What’s the best way to wash my Nome piece?

Most of our garments are made from natural fibers that don’t need frequent washing. Air them out after use, and hand wash gently in lukewarm water with mild detergent only when needed. Read more here.
