The Beauty of Handmade — A Nomé Story

An artisan knitting

Machinery, equipment and technology

Handmade does not imply that machinery, equipment and technology were not used. Depending on the complexity of the design each Nomé piece undergoes up to 14 steps. While parts are produced on a knitting machine, they are carefully hand-sewn, then washed, dried and ironed to achieve the final finish. Each piece undergoes 15 to 30 meticulous procedures that enhance durability, minimize expansibility and shrinkage, and reduce the natural roughness of wool.

Artisan’s patience, commitment and expertise

Artisans pour their heart and soul, using their passion, knowledge, creativity and expertise to give life to the items they work on. It requires a tremendous amount of patience, commitment and dedication. The result is not just an item, but a work of superior quality—rich in detail and infused with love.

High quality and one of a kind

Handmade items are made to last as the focus is on quality and not quantity. This makes them sustainable and environmentally friendly. Unlike mass produced, each and every handmade item is one of a kind - no two handmade scarves or sweaters are ever alike, each one a unique expression of craft and care.
